The Eagle
of the Night

(1928)

 

This late silent era aviation-western serial stars Frank Clarke and Shirley Palmer, with Earl Metcalfe, Josef Swickard, Maurice Costello and Jack Richardson. Unfortunately, not all of the 10-chapter serial has survived.

This DVD-R edition has been mastered from incomplete color-tinted and color-toned 35mm prints of chapters 1, 2 and 4 (two reels each complete) and chapters 3, 5, 6 and 10 (one reel only).

The film is accompanied by a cobbled-together soundtrack of preexisting low-fidelity film music.

For now, this is our recommended home video edition of the serial.
